What to expect during a Caesarean section: Part 1 podcast EP 175

Spotify | Apple podcasts | Tune | Audible

Whether it is planned or unexpected, I am firmly convinced that a caesarean section is still a birth, and everyone Mama deserves to find out, support and qualify. But the truth is that many women go into their caesarean sections and feel unprepared and are not sure what they can expect during a Caesarean section. So I knew that we had to record this episode and I found it perfect Guests who help us do exactly that: Dr. Jen Wagner, an obstetric anesthetist certified by the board, and Bethany Scott, a nurse, Doula and other Caesarean section mother.

We had such an incredible discussion for which we spoke in the end hours! So much valuable information was shared that we decided to divide it into two episodes because we really didn’t want to leave anything out. These kind of honest conversations are exactly what we need to change the narrative about the Caesarean section.

She decided to create the kind of support she wanted. Today Bethany is passionate about the fact that they feel, supported and strengthened during birth and beyond birth and beyond.

You and Dr. Jen now share their knowledge and Perspectives through their podcast, The imperial experience podcastWhat helps Women prepare for their birth stories with more self -confidence and compassion and process them.

What did we discuss?

In this part 1 episode Dr. Jen, Bethany and I Chick-Chat about what Really happens before, during and immediately after a caesarean section it planned or unscheduled and how you feel more like a birth and less like a procedure. For mothers, it is important to understand which options are available to you with every step of the path and we feel that way. Here are some of the questions we dealt with in our conversation:

  • Let’s start with the basics. Can you lead us through the different types of caesarean sections (aspiring, non -exciting, planned, unplanned, gentle, family -centered, etc.)?
  • Why should women need them? Who qualifies for everyone? How can parents best control these challenges?
  • Please carry out what a pregnant mother can expect if she has a caesarean section. (Before, during the procedure and immediate postpartum)
  • What are you some frequent fears or misunderstandings that women have about Caesarean sections, and what would you say to alleviate these fears?
  • What are things that people don’t know about being able to do or ask when it comes to having a caesarean section? What should you start your birth schedule?

I hope this part 1 episode gives you the information you are looking for to prepare for the procedure and your birth experience. Next week we will be more about postpartum experience and what you can expect.

Last thoughts

Caesarean sections are often presented in classes or by providers as clinical or impersonal, but it does not have to be. If you know what you can expect during a Caesarean section, this can make the difference. The more you know, the more confident you can feel and the more clearly you can stand up for the most important ones for you.

Like Dr. Jen and Bethany reminded us, there is So Many opportunities to make this experience more well -founded, respectful and stronger. Regardless of whether you want to prepare for a planned caesarean section or just want to be ready for every possibility, this episode offers the insight and compassion that I believe that she deserves every mother.

Like Bethany and Dr. Jen have shared so nicely: Caesarean sections are real birth-full emotions, bravery and transformation. They earn it, just like in any other birth history. And I couldn’t agree.

I hope this episode will help you to feel the privilege and strengthened for your caesarean section. If you know a mom that would benefit from understanding what you have to expect during a caesarean section, please send them your way and mark us on Instagram @Thebabychickchat. Your story is important. Your birth is important. And you are not alone.
