Nowadays, it is common for most women to work before becoming mothers. Once they decide to expand their family, maternity leave comes to mind. How much time will she have free? How much is paid or not paid? What should she prepare for to have a smooth maternity leave? Since there are many questions, we had to speak to Dr. Jessica Madden, a mother of four, board-certified pediatrician and neonatologist, and board-certified lactation consultant (IBCLC), their recommendations for preparing for maternity leave and what moms should add to their maternity leave checklist.
Who is Dr. Jessica Madden?

Dr. Jessica Madden has been a board-certified pediatrician and neonatologist for over 15 years. She is currently an employee at Neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) at Rainbow Babies and Children’s Hospital in Cleveland, OH. She previously worked at the Boston and Cleveland Clinic Children’s Hospitals. It started in 2018 Primrose Newborn Care Providing newborn medications and breastfeeding support at home. Dr. Madden is currently Medical Director at Aeroflow breast pumps. She also enjoys traveling, yoga, reading and spending time with her four children.
