Rediscover yourself through what you are wearing

As we all know, motherhood changes everything. And this can even include how we see ourselves when we look in the mirror. Between sleep deprivation, postpartum recovery, physical changes and the life of tiny people can only feel another thing on our endless to-do list, in which many of us normally do not have the energy to think about it. Because we are exhausted, we simply get the best, cleanest, what we need for the day. It may appear small and silly, but the choice of how they present themselves to the world can actually have a greater influence than they think. And what if this daily decision could be something that lifts it up instead of weighing it?

In this episode of Chat chatI sat down with my girlfriend Sarah Villarreal, a certified style coach and personal stylist who helps modern mothers to regain their self -confidence through style. As the mother of two two herself, Sarah understands the change in identity that happens in motherhood and how what we wear is a strong way to connect with ourselves again during this transition.

Who is Sarah Villarreal?

Sarah Villarreal Headshot

Sarah Villarreal Is A Certified Style Coach® and personal stylist It is committed to helping modern mothers to rediscover their self -confidence through style. As a former fashion designer and mother of two children, Sarah understands first -hand how clothes tell a powerful story about who we are, especially during the identity years of motherhood.

With a conclusion of the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising, she designed clothing for some of the best brands in the industry and worked in technical design for handbags. She led her career from styling customers on Rodeo Drive to navigate the raw, real seasons of postpartum life and to give her a unique perspective on the connection between fashion and self-care.

Over the years, she became a resource for friends and family members who needed help with her wardrobes, be it for family photos, vacation or just this perfect everyday life. Her time as a mother, who stays at home, reinforced a powerful truth: to invest in yourself as you feel how she appears-a positive effect on every area of life.

While fashion has always been her passion, Sarah knows that the style can feel overwhelming or unreachable for many women. She was there too. Now she is on the mission to show mothers that it is not a luxury, it is a necessity that it is a necessity.

What we talked about

This conversation was such a fun and refreshing attitude to style, self -sufficiency and identity in motherhood. Sarah and I talked about the deep connection between what we are wearing and what we feel, especially during the delicate postpartum years and beyond.

Here are a few highlights from our conversation:

  • Why style is important (especially for mothers). Sarah announced how clothes not only look good, but therefore feel good And the season of life in which they are in. If you reflect your inner inside, go bigger, speak with more self -confidence and show up as the best version of yourself.
  • It is not selfish why you invest in her wardrobe in her wardrobe. For so many mothers, the transfer of time or money feels forgiving or unnecessary for themselves (not for their children). But Sarah frame it as an investment in her mental and emotional well -being. It’s not about clothing. It’s about coming You.
  • What to do if nothing fits or feels right. Regardless of whether you are in the middle of birth or in years in motherhood, we all had this “I have nothing to wear”. Sarah offered simple mindset and practical strategies to help mothers build a cloakroom that fits their true body and real life.
  • Your mom outfit formulas that are sweet and functional. Think: Leggings + oversized blazer, jogger + tea + denim jacket, Maxi dress + denim vest. Sarah shares paths to build outfits where you feel polished without affecting comfort.
  • In this way, they navigate challenges in style and changes in the body image. Sarah shares the most common fights she hears from mothers and how she gently overcome her without comparison or pressure to “jump back”.
  • How to use style to regain trust. We talked about how to put on an act of self -love. Even the smallest outfit tweak or the deliberate choice can change how you can wear all day. And when our children see how we appear in this world, this is also a great example for them. It shows them that it is not only okay, but also essential To sit on our own list of priority.
